Investment in Crimean Viticulture on Steep Rise

The Crimeaís imports of grapevine cuttings showed a steep and steady growth during the past three years.

The Crimea imported 123 tons of cuttings to $2.5m in 2016 — five times more in value terms than in the previous year. In 2017, the peninsula’s imports grew by 39% to 2.4 million cuttings (167 tons) worth $3.5m.

The key suppliers of vine cuttings to the Crimea were Italy ($2,36m or 67%), Serbia ($799,000 or 23%) and Austria ($341,000 or 10%).
