In the first quarter of 2018 Russia-Armenia trade turnover has amounted to $513 mln and increased by 38% compared to the same period of 2017.
In 2017 the trade turnover of these countries stood at $1,71bn. As for the structure of the bilateral trade, Russia’s export to Armenia amounted to $1,17 bn and grew by 18% compared to 2016. The supplies from Russia accounted for 29% of all Armenian import. The value of Russia’s import from Armenia was $540 mln, a 45% increase compared to 2016.
The main commodities exported by Russia to Armenia in 2017 were petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons, petroleum oils and oils from bituminous minerals (not crude), unwrought aluminium, wheat and meslin. These products accounted for 50% of all Armenia’s import from Russia.
The main commodities imported by Russia from Armenia were undenatured ethyl alcohol of an alcoholic strength by volume of less than 80%, spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages, lamps and light fittings, and diamonds (whether or not worked, but not mounted or set). These goods accounted for 45% of all Armenia’s export to Russia.
