The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is the leader among Russian regions for rough diamonds export (82%). In 2017 the Republic of Sakhaís export of these products amounted to $3,85 bn.
For the first four months of this year the Republic of Sakha has exported rough diamonds worth $1,73 bn.
In 2017 the main importers of Yakutsk diamonds were Belgium (58.7%), India (17.7%), Israel (11.5%) and the UAE (7.3%). Besides, the Republic of Sakha exported diamonds to Hong Kong, Botswana, Armenia, the USA, Belarus, Switzerland, China, the UK and Japan. In 2017 Russia ranked 7th in the world for rough diamonds export with export value of $4.7 bn. The USA ranked 1st ($19 bn), India ranked 2nd ($18.11 bn), Hong Kong ranked 3rd ($17.15 bn), Belgium ranked 4th ($15.26 bn), Israel ranked 5th ($14.69 bn) and the UAE ranked 6th ($8.44 bn).
