China’s business showed interest in importing amber from Russia’s Baltic exclave Kaliningrad Region.
The export of finished amber products from Kaliningrad will be discussed at the Chinese international exhibition and a joint Chinese-Mogolian-Russian trade and economic cooperation, both opening in Ulanqab (Ulhan Chab), Inner Mongolia, China, on June 28. Russian amber producers will be represented by a delegation of the regional trade association, the Kaliningrad Region Amber Industry Cluster.
The discussions will focus on lobbying for lower Chinese customs tariffs on imported amber products manufactured within single integrated production and marketing chains. China’s tariffs on amber imports are now 40% of the customs value.
