Russia imported US food, alcohol and cigarettes to $331.4million in 2017 — 74% more than the previous year.
Imports of tobacco products from the United States reached $75.9m, and liquor, $61.5million.
Whiskies, which the Russians imported to $45.8million, made up three fourths (74.5%) of all Russian imports, followed, by a large margin, by wines ($6.4m, or 10%), liqueurs ($6.4m, or 10%), beer ($2.2m, or 3.5%), and rum ($683,000, or 1%). Vodka and gin accounted for 0.03 of Russian imports of American booze last year.
Unmanufactured partly or wholly stemmed or stripped tobacco was imported to $58million, making up more than three fourths (76.5%) of the imports; cigars, to $11million (14.5%); and cigarettes, rolling and pipe tobacco, to $2million (2.6%). Other unmanufactured tobacco made up he remaining 6.4% worth $4.9million.
