Schneider Electric (SE) (France) intends to expand its Russian operations dealing with the manufacturing of IT and electric power equipment. To implement this plan, the vendor is holding negotiations with the Ministry of Industry and Trade. As of today, more than 60% of the products supplied by SE to Russian customers are manufactured in Russia at the six factories owned by the company.

According to Vice President of IT Division (ITD) Schneider Electric in Russia and CIS Natalya Makarochkina, the company is serious about the Russian market. For the last five years, SE has already invested into Russia more than $1 billion. SE also manufactures a portion of its IT equipment in Russia. The company plans to expand its production capacity and does not rule out the possibility that this may happen in the next six months.

The Russian subdivision of Schneider Electric employs more than 12 thousand persons. The company's plants are located in the Leningrad Region, Kozmodemyansk (Mari El Republic), Yekaterinburg and Samara.
