Korean Orion planning to expand Tver Region operations

Its plans to construct stage 2 of a confectionery plant were discussed at a meeting held between acting Governor of the Tver Region Igor Rudeni and Cho Yan Hi, the CEO of Orion.

According to Cho Yan Hi, the existing facilities do not satisfy the existing demand for products. The company has been planning to construct one more facility since 2013, but it is only now when the discussion of the project implementation in detail has become possible. Central Russia is Orion Pischeporm's key sales market. Therefore, the production is proposed to be developed in close vicinity to the capital.

It is expected that a site will be allocated for the company in Raslovo Industrial Park for expansion purposes. This place is logistically convenient. Furthermore, its residents may reckon on support from the regional government as regards resource provision aspects.

Korean Orion has offices in more than 60 countries of the globe. Its Russian operations are hosted by Novosibirsk and Tver. The facility located in the capital of Upper Volga region has been operating since 2006. Over the last years, 80% of raw materials have been purchased in Russia.
