Russian-Japanese Industrial Cooperation Sub-committee holds meeting

The first meeting of the Industrial Cooperation Sub-Committee of the Russian-Japanese Intergovernmental Committee for Trade and Economy has been held with the participation of Glev Nikitin, the First Deputy Russian Minister of Industry and Trade, and Hirofumi Katase, a Deputy Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.

According to the Press Office of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the attendees of the meeting welcomed the execution of an industrial policy dialog cooperation memorandum (which constituted a platform for creating the Industrial Cooperation Sub-Committee) which took place during the "Trade and Industrial Dialog: Russia–Japan" business mission hosted in February 2016 by Tokyo.

Gleb Nikitin also extended gratitude to the Japanese party for its decision authorizing Japan's participation in INNOPROM-2017 International Industrial Exhibition as a partner country. An appropriate Memorandum of Intent regarding Japan's participation in INNOPROM-2017 was executed between the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Formika Group, the Japan Association for Trade with Russia & NIS (ROTOBO) and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in Yekaterinburg on 13 July 2016.
