KNAUF (Germany) intends to implement a large project in the Tyumen Region to make crushed glass.
"Our current challenge is finding sources of raw materials. We aim to continue our work to collect individual glass containers and consolidate sources of raw materials in adjacent cities with a million-plus population", Pavel Vishnyakov, KNAUF Insulation's Regional Director for Russia and CIS, noted.
The day before, Nikolaus Knauf, a co-owner of KNAUF International Group, arrived at the Region on a business visit. He met with Vadim Shumkov, a Deputy Governor of the Region, and visited KNAUF Insulation's local facility where a meeting with the facility's management was held.
Mr. Knauf also discussed with Vadim Shumkov prospects for the potential construction of modular buildings based on the latest technology. This brand new project to be co-invested by the company is essentially a pilot one for Europe generally. Current plans envisage the creation in Russia of a facility that will independently manufacture walls, floors and ceilings for buildings and then deliver them to territories. Local construction firms will assemble the resulting structures and erect ready-made buildings. The 'modules' will feature reduced-weight and low prices. Tyumen may become one of the key regions capable of supplying such structures.
