An increasingly growing interest in the tourist sector among potential investors has been mentioned by the Investment Agency. It took several days for officers of the Agency to hold a number of meetings with foreign delegations.

An increasingly growing interest in the tourist sector among potential investors has been mentioned by the Investment Agency. It took several days for officers of the Agency to hold a number of meetings with foreign delegations.

A tourist compound to be called 'Primorye Ring' being erected in close vicinity to the IRLA (Integrated Resort & Leisure Area) sparks great interest on the part of investors. It has been presented recently to a delegation comprising representatives of large Chinese corporations that are interested in participating in the project.

"Apart from its favorable geographical location, this project's advantage is that its implementation is already under way. Investors want to get refund guarantees for their money and to mitigate risks. This is why nobody is going to invest into joint projects where the Russian party participates only indirectly", a representative of the Investment Agency told.

The delegation members were also presented a project envisaging the construction of a hotel in the very heart of Vladivostok. The project contemplates the creation of a hotel compound with camps being substantially cottages with amenities. The amount to be invested in the project is going to be some RUB 500 million.

Apart from hotel construction projects, golf park projects are popular among foreign investors. It took a few days for several delegations from China and Korea to inspect potential sites that may host such projects.

The Investment Agency is now in charge of supervising a total of 150 investment and PPP projects. About 14% of them pertain to tourism.
