Chinese ZTE to invest into Dagestan's power economy

The company's short-term plans include the erection of two solar plants in Kaspiysk and Khunzakh as well as a small-scale hydropower plant in Akhty village. Appropriate intentions were recorded in the memorandum on Tuesday, July 12, in Yekaterinburg in the course of the 3rd Russian-Chinese Expo, an international forum.

The company's short-term plans include the erection of two solar plants in Kaspiysk and Khunzakh as well as a small-scale hydropower plant in Akhty village. Appropriate intentions were recorded in the memorandum on Tuesday, July 12, in Yekaterinburg in the course of the 3rd Russian-Chinese Expo, an international forum.


The memorandum executed in Yekaterinburg envisages the construction of two solar plants in Dagestan, namely, Kaspiyskaya Solar Plant and Khunzakh-1 Solar Plant which will supply electric power and capacity to the wholesale power and capacity market.


The document also contemplates cooperation in connection with hydraulic power development projects. In particular, the construction of a small-scale hydropower plant in Akhti village, South Dagestan, is currently under discussion.


The execution of the memorandum is expected to result in a visit of Chinese business executives to Dagestan for signing agreements detailing all project implementation terms and conditions, including their total prices, number of workplaces and tax bases.
