"For the second consecutive year, our colleagues from Germany become the honored guest of the Volga Region Ecological Week. Today they presented a new project within the Preservation of the Imperial Eagle and Ecological Education programme. We especially value willingness of our foreign colleagues to cooperate internationally", - reported the First Deputy Chairman of the Government. According to him, the imperial eagle is included in the Red List and is the natural symbol of the Ulyanovsk region. Currently there are about 120 couples of eagles in the region. The aim of the new international project will be studying of this bird's migratory way and wintering areas by means of GSM transmitters. This will help to preserve this rare species.

In 2015, NABU took part in the V Volga Region Ecological Week. Within the visit experts studied German legislation in the sphere of restoration of green spaces in city and rural settlements, as well as experience of Germany on protection and development of the SPNA system and nature protection volunteering.
