Siemens intend to launch production in Moscow
Moscow's Government and the corporate group have entered into a cooperation agreement.
On the 30th of June, Moscow's Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina and CEO of Siemens' Russian operations Dietrich Meller executed the cooperation agreement at the Moscow Urbanistic Forum taking place in the capital.
To accommodate the new facility, the city is ready to allocate 22 land plots in the capital's industrial zones. The Government intends to consider the products to be manufactured by the corporate group in a short time.
The CEO of the German company also noted how important the executed agreement is.
"It is long time since we have been operating in Russia and Moscow. Our company has something to offer. This includes "smart" city technology and transport solutions", Mr. Meller said.
According to Mr. Meller, high speed trains called Lastochka manufactured in Russia are expected to be put in operation shortly.
"I'm very glad and we are really considering future investments as well. So this is another step to move our companies forward and, hopefully, to develop Moscow", the CEO of Siemens' Russian operations emphasized.
We remind that the Moscow Region's Government has held a tender to award its design contract for high-speed tramway solutions. The construction is expected to commence in 2018. The following companies have confirmed their intention to participate in the tender: VTB Capital, Sberbank, Siemens, Eurasian Development Bank and other companies.
