Sakhalin suggests Koreans to participate in fish cluster construction

The authorities of the Sakhalin Region have offered investors from South Korea to take part in the implementation of an investment project to create a fish cluster in the territory of Korsakov Port.

On Tuesday, officers of Daelim Industrial discussed details of the project with representatives of the Region Economic Development Ministry. The project contemplates the creation of fishing, processing and vessel servicing area in southern Sakhalin. Korsakovo wholesale, production and logistics center will constitute the Cluster's core. The place is expected to host areas designed for vessel loading and unloading operations, container transshipments, installation of refrigerating capacities, ship repairing yards and fish product processing shops.

The port's existing hydraulic engineering installations will be upgraded. New quays will be constructed in the port to enable it to accept medium range and heavy tonnage vessels.
