The mining and processing of marble originating from the subsoil resources of the Pushtilim and Dukhovskoy Deposits, Eltsovsky District, are going to be revived in the Altai Territory, as reported by the official website of the District Administration.

The tender aimed to award the right of use will be held by the Federal Subsoil Resources Management Agency. Interested investors are offered to continue the development of marble deposits and master the manufacturing of decorative cladding materials and other products made of natural stone.

Experts note that the Pushtilim marble may feature up to seven colors. Marble extracted from this deposit was used to clad such projects as Moscow Metro's Park Kultury and Avtozavodskaya stations, Sheremetyevo Airport and the Kremlin's Palace of Congresses in Moscow.

The Pushtilim Deposit was discovered by geologists in 1915 and so far its resources are not depleted. It is estimated to have about 500 thousand cubic meters of reserves, which is sufficient for 40 to 60 years of mining operations. The government authorities say that the investor who is awarded the right to develop the deposits will enjoy great marble production prospects.

"The Territory's Administration is interested in attracting entrepreneurs to Pushtilim because the Region's demand for the concerned material is not as scaled as opportunities inherent in these deposits. Appropriate letters have been sent to such adjacent regions as the Omsk, Novosibirsk and Kemerovo Regions, Crimean Republic and Republic of Kazakhstan", Valery Zhirkov, the Head of the Construction Materials Industry Unit of the Altai Territory Main Construction Department, noted.
