Medelkom to anchor in Russian market
Saint Petersburg-based LLC Imaklik Service is localizing the production of Lithuanian ultrasonic scanners and detector manufactured by Medelkom in St. Petersburg. The market of appropriate equipment is constituted mainly by imported equipment manufactured by global technological giants totaling RUB 5–6 billion. Experts believe that upon successful localization, Russia-based Medelkom production, whose share for the time being does not exceed 5%, will be of demand thanks to its competitive price.
The production of Lithuanian Medelkom is expected to be localized at St. Petersburg's electric equipment plant until the end of 2016. As part of the localization efforts, a RUB 160 million facility is expected to be created to manufacture ultrasonic medical scanners and detectors. Investments include the own funds of project participants and RUB 100 million allocated by the Federal Industry Development Fund expected to be received by the St. Petersburg company as early as in July 2016.
