French Schneider Electric planning to open a facility in Primorye

This came to light at a meeting held between Governor Vladimir Miklushevsky and CEO of the International Corporation's Russian representative office Jean-Lewie Stasi. Schneider Electric is a world-renowned company manufacturing electrically-powered equipment whose annual turnovers total about EUR 23 billion. The Russian market ranks No.4 for the corporation that has invested into it about $1 billion for the last five years. More than 12,000 persons are employed by its Russian plants.

In the course of the working meeting, the CEO of the Russian representative office confirmed that the corporation is interested in creating a production facility in the Primorye Territory. "We perfectly understand that the economy's global center is moving eastwards. Long-standing trading flows are changing nowadays and it is necessary to lock key routes in Primorye as a logistic center of the Asia-Pacific Region", Jean-Lewie Stasi emphasized. By the way, Schneider Electric was the first among French companies to relocate its headquarters from Paris to Hong Kong. Vladimir Miklushevsky noted that today Primorye offers great business development opportunities. The Governor of the Region commented that regardless of which tools would be selected by the investors it was worth paying attention to the Nadezhdinskaya Priority Development Area devoted to transport, logistic and industrial sectors and located at an intersection of key transport routes.

The CEO of the Russian branch thanked the Governor for his attention to the company's projects. "We are considering various investment options ranging from service development to greenfield export-oriented productions. But there is one thing I can assure you of – we will stay here for a long time", Jean-Lewie Stasi summarized.
