Governor Anatoly Artamonov of the Kaluga Region has signed a cooperation agreement between the Regional Government and Sanametal CIS.

The Russian representative office of Hungarian Sanatmetal is going to implement an investment project associated with the construction of a plant that will produce traumatology and orthopedic implants and appliances.

The joint venture will be hosted by the city of Obninsk. The Hungarian party will make its technology and design documents available for the project and provide engineering support. Russian partners will arrange investments for a total of RUB 220 million.

A land plot has already been purchased in Obninsk together with an incomplete construction project located on it. Enabling operations have been completed. The company's representatives intend to complete the development of the design package and proceed to construction operations within the next month.

It should be noted that the products to be manufactured by the Obninsk-based facility will feature both Russian and European certificates and meet the quality requirements offered by world analogues. Therefore, the manufacturers expect their products to not only replace imported implants and appliances in the Russian market but also be exported abroad.

Sanatmetal, a Hungarian company, has been manufacturing and selling implants for traumatology, spine surgery, dentistry, veterinary as well as knee and hip joint prosthetic implants since 1967. The company offers 25,000 types of products made of special stainless steel and titanium alloy. Its products are sold in 35 countries of the US, Asia, Europe as well as Arab and CIS countries.
