A gas chemical facility is expected to be built in Usolye-Siberian with the support of Chinese investors. This news was told by Sergey Levchenko, the Governor of the Region.

"We are seriously and, as I think, successfully negotiating with Sinopec. I hope that certain agreements will be reached in the next several months. Chinese companies are also interested in arranging other production facilities in this area", Governor Sergey Levchenko noted.

Options for processing timber and agricultural products were also on the agenda.

"We are going to process timber to abandon delivering roundwood as has been the case in recent decades. Such proposals have been responded by many companies. We have been also recently receiving initiatives aimed to jointly make agricultural products. Our main condition is the requirement to do processing operations within the Irkutsk Region and ensuring high quality end products", the Governor of the Region emphasized.
