Many EU companies have suffered after the Russian authorities imposed sanctions and barred access for EU crops. That is why an increasingly growing number of agricultural enterprises take interest in launching projects inside Russia.

For example, a company owned by Floriano Mirro grows vegetables and lettuce in glasshouses in Italy. It has supplied its produce to many countries, including Russia, for 15 years. The sanctions have struck Mr. Mirro's business and he decided to open a facility in the southern part of Russia – in Ryazanskoye rural settlement, Belorechensky District, Krasnodar Territory.

To grow lettuce, the Italian farmer intends to rent 30 to 35 hectares and invest EUR 2 million in the project in the rural village. The investor is confident in the sale market and plans to sell his produce in Kuban as well as in major cities of the country.

The company is going to have completed formalizing all necessary documents by late February whereupon the firm's representatives will visit Russia once again to agree on their further plans with the Kuban Administration.
