Chinese - Russian Bilateral Trade, 9 months of 2016 and 2015



In the first 9 months of 2016 Chinese-Russian bilateral trade volume increased by 3% and reached 46.3 billion USD compared to 45.0 billion USD in the same period of 2015.


Chinese exports to Russia rose to 26.9 billion USD (by 8%) while imports fell to 19.4 billion USD (by 4%) (see Figure 1).

In 2015 Chinese- Russian bilateral trade volume decreased by 28% and reached 63.5 billion USD compared to 88.3 billion USD in 2014.


Chinese exports to Russia fell to 35.2 billion USD (by 31%) while imports fell to 28.3 billion USD (by 24%) (see Figure 2).

Chinese exports to Russia


China primarily exports to Russia the following products (see Figure 3, Table 1):

▪ Telephone sets, incl. telephones for cellular networks

▪ Automatic data-processing machines and units thereof

▪ Parts and accessories for tractors, motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons

▪ Tricycles, scooters, pedal cars and similar wheeled toys; dolls' carriages

▪ Footwear with outer soles and uppers of rubber or plastics

▪ Electric instantaneous or storage water heaters and immersion heaters

Russian exports to China


In 2015 Russia has exported to China the following products (see Figure 4, Table 2):

· Petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude

Petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (excluding crude)

Wood sawn or chipped lengthwise, sliced or peeled, whether or not planed, sanded or end-jointed

Turbojets, turbopropellers and other gas turbines

Coal; briquettes, ovoids and similar solid fuels manufactured from coal

Wood in the rough, whether or not stripped of bark or sapwood, or roughly squared

Frozen fish (excluding fish fillets and other fish meat of heading 0304)

Chemical wood pulp, soda or sulphate (excluding dissolving grades)
