Spanish - Russian Bilateral Trade, 2015 and 6 months of 2016


In the first 6 months of 2016 Spanish-Russian bilateral trade volume increased by 1% and reached 2.68 million USD compared to 2.67 million USD in the same period of 2015.


Spanish exports to Russia rose to 0.94 million USD (by 7%) while imports fell to 1.74 million USD (by 2%) (see Figure 1).

In 2015 Spanish - Russian bilateral trade volume decreased by 51% and reached 5.6 billion USD compared to 11.3 billion USD in 2014.


Spanish exports to Russia fell to 1.9 billion USD (by 44%) while imports fell to 3.7 billion USD (by 53%) (see Figure 2).

Spanish exports to Russia


Spain primarily exports to Russia the following products (see Figure 3, Table 1):


  • Glazed ceramic flags and paving, hearth or wall tiles

  • Women's or girls' suits, ensembles, jackets, blazers, dresses

  • Parts and accessories for tractors

  • Other vegetables prepared

  • Men's or boys' suits, ensembles, jackets, blazers, trousers

  • Wine of fresh grapes, incl. fortified wines

  • Medicaments for therapeutic or prophylactic uses

  • New pneumatic tyres, of rubber

  • Prepared pigments, prepared opacifiers and prepared colours

  • Motor cars


In 2015 the imports of Spanish made products in Russia experienced a significant fall. The imports of railway or tramway passenger coaches fell by 82%; the imports of glazed ceramic flags and paving, hearth or wall tiles- by 55%.

Russian exports to Spain


In 2015 Russia has exported to Spain the following products (see Figure 4, Table 2):





2015 showed a significant rise in Russian exports to Spain of flat-rolled products of iron or non-alloy steel, of a width >= 600 mm, hot-rolled (+194%). At the same time the exports of petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (excluding crude) (-72%) showed a significant fall (see Table 2).
