Jordanian-Russian Bilateral Trade in 2015


In 2015 Jordanian-Russian bilateral trade volume decreased by 52% and reached 321.5 million USD compared to 670.3 million USD in 2014.


Jordanian exports to Russia fell to 3.1 million USD (by 55%) while imports fell to 318.4 million USD (by 52%) (see Figure 1).

Jordanian exports to Russia


Jordan primarily exports to Russia the following products (see Figure 2, Table 1):


▪ Miscellaneous edible preparations (61%)

▪ Fertilizers (11%)

▪ Tanning, dyeing extracts, tannins, derivs, pigments etc (10%)

▪ Pharmaceutical products (9%)

▪ Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (3%)

▪ Plastics and articles thereof (2%)

▪ Essential oils, perfumes, cosmetics, toileteries (2%)

▪ Miscellaneous manufactured articles (1%)

▪ Machinery, nuclear reactors, boilers, etc (1%)


In 2015 the imports of Jordanian made products in Russia experienced a significant fall. The imports of essential oils, perfumes, cosmetics, toiletries fell by 89%; the imports of machinery, nuclear reactors, boilers- by 86%.

Russian exports to Jordan


In 2015 Russia has exported to Jordan the following products (see Figure 3, Table 2):


▪ Cereals (47%)

▪ Commodities not elsewhere specified (16%)

▪ Copper and articles thereof (9%)

▪ Iron and steel (8%)

▪ Mineral fuels, oils, distillation products, etc (8%)

▪ Animal, vegetable fats and oils, cleavage products, etc (3%)

▪ Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (2%)

▪ Wood and articles of wood, wood charcoal (2%)

▪ Sugars and sugar confectionery (1%)

▪ Paper and paperboard, articles of pulp, paper and board (1%)

▪ Live animals (1%)


2015 showed a significant rise in Russian exports to Jordan of commodities not elsewhere specified (+34383%). At the same time the exports of mineral fuels, oils, distillation products (-94%) showed a significant fall (see Table 2).
