Uzbekistanian-Russian Bilateral Trade in 2015


In 2015 Uzbekistanian-Russian bilateral trade volume decreased by 31% and reached 2.8 billion USD compared to 3.9 billion USD in 2014.


Uzbekistanian exports to Russia fell to 0.6 billion USD (by 32%) while imports fell to 2.2 billion USD (by 31%) (see Figure 1).

Uzbekistanian exports to Russia


Uzbekistan primarily exports to Russia the following products (see Figure 2, Table 1):


▪ Cotton (28%)

▪ Articles of apparel, accessories, knit or crochet (21%)

▪ Knitted or crocheted fabric (6%)

▪ Vehicles other than railway, tramway (6%)

▪ Pearls, precious stones, metals, coins, etc (5%)

▪ Plastics and articles thereof (5%)

▪ Commodities not elsewhere specified (4%)

▪ Zinc and articles thereof (4%)

▪ Electrical, electronic equipment (3%)

▪ Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (3%)

▪ Edible fruit, nuts, peel of citrus fruit, melons (3%)

▪ Beverages, spirits and vinegar (1%)

▪ Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (1%)

▪ Vegetable, fruit, nut, etc food preparations (1%)


In 2015 the imports of Uzbekistanian made products in Russia experienced a significant fall. The imports of vehicles other than railway, tramway fell by 86%.

Russian exports to Uzbekistan


In 2015 Russia has exported to Uzbekistan the following products (see Figure 3, Table 2):


▪ Mineral fuels, oils, distillation products, etc (20%)

▪ Wood and articles of wood, wood charcoal (14%)

▪ Iron and steel (13%)

▪ Machinery, nuclear reactors, boilers, etc (7%)

▪ Animal,vegetable fats and oils, cleavage products, etc (6%)

▪ Articles of iron or steel (5%)

▪ Electrical, electronic equipment (4%)

▪ Pharmaceutical products (3%)

▪ Paper and paperboard, articles of pulp, paper and board (3%)

▪ Plastics and articles thereof (3%)

▪ Residues, wastes of food industry, animal fodder (2%)

▪ Railway, tramway locomotives, rolling stock, equipment (1%)

▪ Vehicles other than railway, tramway (1%)

▪ Cereals (1%)


2015 showed a significant rise in Russian exports to Uzbekistan of cereals (+939%). At the same time the exports of railway, tramway locomotives, rolling stock (-52%) showed a significant fall (see Table 2).
