Czech-Russian Bilateral Trade in 2015


In 2015 Czech-Russian bilateral trade volume decreased by 43% and reached 6.7 billion USD compared to 11.7 billion USD in 2014.


Czech exports to Russia fell to 3.2 billion USD (by 42%) while imports fell to 3.5 billion USD (by 43%) (see Figure 1).

Czech exports to Russia


Czech Republic primarily exports to Russia the following products (see Figure 2, Table 1):


▪ Machinery, nuclear reactors, boilers, etc (34%)

▪ Vehicles other than railway, tramway (16%)

▪ Electrical, electronic equipment (13%)

▪ Toys, games, sports requisites (4%)

▪ Plastics and articles thereof (4%)

▪ Pharmaceutical products (3%)

▪ Articles of iron or steel (3%)

▪ Optical, photo, technical, medical, etc apparatus (2%)

▪ Miscellaneous manufactured articles (2%)

▪ Rubber and articles thereof (1%)

▪ Inorganic chemicals, precious metal compound, isotopes (1%)

▪ Glass and glassware (1%)

▪ Essential oils, perfumes, cosmetics, toileteries (1%)

▪ Furniture, lighting, signs, prefabricated buildings (1%)



In 2015 the imports of Czech made products in Russia experienced a significant fall. The imports of vehicles other than railway, tramway fell by 60%; the imports of furniture, lighting, signs, prefabricated buildings- by 56%.

Russian exports to Czech Republic


In 2015 Russia has exported to Czech Republic the following products (see Figure 3, Table 2):


▪ Mineral fuels, oils, distillation products, etc (78%)

▪ Machinery, nuclear reactors, boilers, etc (6%)

▪ Rubber and articles thereof (3%)

▪ Inorganic chemicals, precious metal compound, isotopes (3%)

▪ Ores, slag and ash (2%)

▪ Aluminium and articles thereof (1%)

▪ Iron and steel (1%)

▪ Pearls, precious stones, metals, coins, etc (1%)

▪ Organic chemicals (1%)

▪ Wood and articles of wood, wood charcoal (1%)

▪ Lead and articles thereof (1%)

▪ Electrical, electronic equipment (1%)



2015 showed a significant rise in Russian exports to Czech Republic of lead and articles thereof (+238%). At the same time the exports of aluminium and articles thereof (-70%) showed a significant fall (see Table 2).
