Jordanian-Russian Bilateral Trade, 10 months of 2015


In the first 10 months of 2015 Jordanian-Russian bilateral trade volume decreased by 54% and reached 0.277 billion USD compared to 0.600 billion USD in the same period of 2014.


Jordanian exports to Russia fell to 0.003 billion USD (by 43%) while imports fell to 0.274 billion USD (by 54%) (see Figure 1).

Jordanian exports to Russia


Jordan primarily exports to Russia the following products (see Figure 2, Table 1):


▪ Miscellaneous edible preparations (63%)

▪ Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (2%)

▪ Miscellaneous manufactured articles (1%)


In the first 10 months of 2015 the imports of Jordanian made products in Russia experienced a significant fall. The imports of edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers fell by 91%.

Russian exports to Jordan


In the first 10 months of 2015 Russia has exported to Jordan the following products (see Figure 3, Table 2):


▪ Cereals (50%)

▪ Iron and steel (9%)

▪ Animal,vegetable fats and oils, cleavage products, etc (3%)

▪ Wood and articles of wood, wood charcoal (2%)

▪ Paper and paperboard, articles of pulp, paper and board (1%)

▪ Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (1%)

▪ Live animals (0.3%)

▪ Electrical, electronic equipment (0.3%)

▪ Machinery, nuclear reactors, boilers, etc (0.2%)

▪ Soaps, lubricants, waxes, candles, modelling pastes (0.1%)

▪ Plastics and articles thereof (0.1%)

▪ Fertilizers (0.1%)

▪ Beverages, spirits and vinegar (0.1%)

▪ Wadding, felt, nonwovens, yarns, twine, cordage, etc (0.1%)


The first 10 months of 2015 showed a significant rise in Russian exports to Jordan of soaps, lubricants, waxes, candles, modelling pastes (+480%). At the same time the exports of fertilizers (-82%) showed a significant fall (see Table 2).
