El Salvador-Russian Bilateral Trade, 10 months of 2015


In the first 10 months of 2015 El Salvador-Russian bilateral trade volume decreased by 41% and reached 0.014 billion USD compared to 0.024 billion USD in the same period of 2014.


El Salvador exports to Russia rose to 0.0005 billion USD (by 149%) while imports fell to 0.0135 billion USD (by 42%) (see Figure 1).

El Salvador exports to Russia


El Salvador primarily exports to Russia the following products (see Figure 2, Table 1):


▪ Coffee, tea, mate and spices (97%)

▪ Cocoa and cocoa preparations (0.3%)


In the first 10 months of 2015 the imports of El Salvador made products in Russia experienced a significant rise . The imports of coffee, tea, mate and spices rise by 255%.

Russian exports to El Salvador


In the first 10 months of 2015 Russia has exported to El Salvador the following products (see Figure 3, Table 2):


▪ Fertilizers (74%)

▪ Aluminium and articles thereof (18%)

▪ Paper and paperboard, articles of pulp, paper and board (3%)

▪ Organic chemicals (1%)

▪ Plastics and articles thereof (1%)

▪ Miscellaneous chemical products (0.3%)


The first 10 months of 2015 showed a significant rise in Russian exports to El Salvador of plastics and articles thereof (+2243%). At the same time the exports of fertilizers (-33%) showed a significant fall (see Table 2).
