Czech-Russian Bilateral Trade, 10 months of 2015


In the first 10 months of 2015 Czech-Russian bilateral trade volume decreased by 42% and reached 5.6 billion USD compared to 9.6 billion USD in the same period of 2014.


Czech exports to Russia fell to 2.6 billion USD (by 44%) while imports fell to 3 billion USD (by 39%) (see Figure 1).

Czech exports to Russia


Czech Republic primarily exports to Russia the following products (see Figure 2, Table 1):


▪ Machinery, nuclear reactors, boilers, etc (33%)

▪ Vehicles other than railway, tramway (17%)

▪ Electrical, electronic equipment (12%)

▪ Toys, games, sports requisites (4%)

▪ Plastics and articles thereof (4%)

▪ Pharmaceutical products (3%)

▪ Articles of iron or steel (3%)

▪ Optical, photo, technical, medical, etc apparatus (2%)

▪ Miscellaneous manufactured articles (2%)

▪ Rubber and articles thereof (1%)

▪ Glass and glassware (1%)

▪ Essential oils, perfumes, cosmetics, toileteries (1%)

▪ Miscellaneous articles of base metal (1%)

▪ Paper and paperboard, articles of pulp, paper and board (1%)


In the first 10 months of 2015 the imports of Czech made products in Russia experienced a significant fall. The imports of vehicles other than railway, tramway fell by 62%; the imports of glass and glassware - by 50%.

Russian exports to Czech Republic


In the first 10 months of 2015 Russia has exported to Czech Republicthe following products (see Figure 3, Table 2):


▪ Mineral fuels, oils, distillation products, etc (80%)

▪ Machinery, nuclear reactors, boilers, etc (4%)

▪ Ores, slag and ash (3%)

▪ Rubber and articles thereof (3%)

▪ Inorganic chemicals, precious metal compound, isotopes (3%)

▪ Aluminium and articles thereof (1%)

▪ Organic chemicals (1%)

▪ Wood and articles of wood, wood charcoal (1%)

▪ Lead and articles thereof (1%)

▪ Electrical, electronic equipment (1%)

▪ Iron and steel (1%)

▪ Pearls, precious stones, metals, coins, etc (0.7%)

▪ Plastics and articles thereof (0.2%)

▪ Paper and paperboard, articles of pulp, paper and board (0.2%)


The first 10 months of 2015 showed a significant rise in Russian exports to Czech Republicof lead and articles thereof (+223%). At the same time the exports of mineral fuels, oils, distillation products, etc (-42%) showed a significant fall (see Table 2).
