Russia’s Frozen Fish Export To China Went Up By $295 mln

In 2018 Russia’s frozen fish export increased by 25% (+$512 mln.) compared to 2017 and amounted to $2.6 bn.

This production was supplied to 41 countries including China, the Republic of Korea, the Netherlands and Japan. These four countries accounted for 92% of Russia’s export of frozen fish.

In 2018 China became the largest importer of Russian frozen fish and accounted for 47% of all supplies ($1.2 bn, +32% or +$295 mln compared to the previous year).

The Republic of Korea was the second largest importer that accounted for 24% of Russia’s frozen fish supplies ($611 mln, +2% or +$14 mln compared to 2017).

The Netherlands became the third largest importer of Frozen fish from Russia (11% of all supplies or $275 mln). In 2018 the import volume rose by 14% (+$34 mln) compared to 2017.

Finally, Japan ranked 4th and accounted for 10% of Russia’s frozen fish supplies ($276 mln, +62% or +$102 mln compared to the previous year).
