In 2018 Russia-Mongolia trade turnover increased by 20.6% and reached $1.65 bn. In the trade structure Russia’s export prevailed with a 97.4% share.
For this period Russia exported to Mongolia goods for the total amount of $1.61 bn (+21%). The main export goods traditionally included petroleum and oil products (59%), iron or non-alloy steel rods (3.3%), wheat and meslin (2.7%), nitrogen fertilizers (2%), electrical energy (1.6%), chocolate and cacao products (1.6%), petroleum coke and bitumen (1.2%), bakery products (1.1%), petroleum gases (1%), railway locomotives (0.9%) and motor vehicles for goods transportation (0.9%).
Russia’s import from Mongolia amounted to $43,26 mln (+5%). Among Mongolia export goods there were mainly feldspar (64.4%), horse meat and cattle meat (16.9%), hosiery (3.1%), tungsten ores and concentrates (2.5%), knitwear (2.5%), canned meat and sausages (2.9%), wool yarn (1.3%) and other goods.
