Russia’s Fertilizer Export Significantly Exceeds Its Import

From January to October, 2018 Russia exported fertilizers for the total amount of $6.29 bn. Russia’s import of this production stood at $110 mln. only.

The country exported mainly fertilizers containing two or three nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) (42.8%). The largest importers of these fertilizers from Russia were Brazil, Ukraine, Estonia, the USA and China.

Nitrogen fertilizers ranked 2nd and accounted for 34.5% of Russia’s fertilizers export. This good was mostly imported by Brazil, Mexico and the USA.

Potash fertilizers ranked 3rd (22.7%) and were supplied mainly to Brazil, Bangladesh, Indonesia, China and the USA.

Export of animal or vegetable fertilizers and phosphate fertilizers was negligible (0.04% and 0.01% respectively).
