Japan’s Halibut Export To Russia Had 3.6-Fold Increase

For the first 11 months of 2018 Russia’s export of fresh or chilled halibut amounted to $6.2 thous. and reduced by 32% compared to the same period of 2017. Russia’s export of this production exceeded its import by 33%.

Russia exported fresh or chilled halibut to Belarus (53.8%), Kazakhstan (42.4%) and Armenia (3.8%).
The only importer of fresh or chilled halibut to Russia was Japan. From January to November, 2018 Japan’s halibut export to Russia stood at $4.7 thous., it is a 3.6-fold increase compared to the 11 months of 2017.
