For the first 11 months of 2018 Russia’s blue cheese import increased by 14% in terms of value and by 19% in terms of volume and amounted to $15.11 mln with a total weight of 2161 tn.
Russia imported Gorgonzola blue cheese from Brazil, Roquefort cheese from Belarus, other blue cheeses from Argentina, Belarus, Switzerland and Iran.
Other blue cheeses accounted for 74.9% (1624 tn worth $11.31 mln) of all Russia’s blue cheese import. Gorgonzola blue cheese accounted for 25% (534.843 tn worth $3.78 mln), while Roquefort cheese accounted for only 0.1% (2.4 tn worth $19.6 thous.).
