For the first 11 months of 2018 Russia’s sturgeon caviar import value exceeded its export by 114%.
Russia imported 19.153 tn of caviar worth $4.25 mln, but exported only 6.934 tn of this product for the total amount of $1.99 mln.
Caviar was imported from China, Italy, Armenia, Belarus, Uruguay, France and Iran. The largest caviar supplies in terms of volume were originated from China (77%) and Italy (13%). The most expensive sturgeon caviar was exported to Russia by France and Iran.
Russia’s increased sturgeon caviar export and import both in terms of volume and in terms of value compared to the same period of 2017.
