The Republic of Dagestan has quadrupled its export of live sheep. From January to July, 2018 Dagestan’s export of live sheep has amounted to $2.5 mln, while for the same period of 2017 export volume stood at $596 thous.
Live sheep from Dagestan have been exported to Georgia (88%) and Azerbaijan (12%).
The Republic of Dagestan has been an undisputed leader in live sheep export, it has accounted for 86.4% of all Russia’s export of this good. For the first seven months of 2018 live sheep have been also exported by five Russian regions, including Astrakhan Region (7%, $205.5. thous.), the Karachayevo-Cherkessian Republic (4.5%, $130.2 thous.), the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania (1.9%, $55.2 thous.), the Republic of Tatarstan (0.2%, $4,6 thous.), and the Republic of Karelia (0.1%, $2.3 thous.).
