Kostroma Region As Jack-Of-All-Trades: Export of Jewelry and Fire Extinguishers

Kostroma Region ranks 2nd among Russian regions exporting fire extinguishers. For the first seven months of 2018 this region has accounted for 24% of all Russia’s fire extinguisher export.

The largest exporter of this good is Moscow (48%).

But the main strong point of Kostroma Region is jewelry that accounts for 10% of region’s export. Kostroma Region is the largest jewelry exporter that provides 53% of Russia’s jewelry export. This time Moscow ranks 2^nd (25%).

For the first seven months of 2018 Kostroma Region has exported fire extinguishers and its agents for the total amount of $333 thous. to four countries. The largest importer of Kostroma’s fire extinguishers has become Belarus (94.5%). Also this good has been supplied to Kazakhstan (2.3%), Azerbaijan (1.8%) and Moldova (1.4%).

From January to July, 2018 Kostroma has exported jewelry worth $20.9 mln to 16 countries, including Belarus (45%), Kazakhstan (29%), Moldova (11%), Lithuania (4%), Latvia (4%), Germany (2%), Estonia (1.6%), Kyrgyzstan (1.2%), Switzerland (0.8%), Canada (0.7%) and others.
