Fresh Melons on Russia’s Tables

For the first seven months of 2018 Russia has imported almost 7 thous. fresh melons worth $6.55 mln, it is a 2% decrease in terms of value and a 17% decrease in terms of volume compared to the same period of 2017.

The largest exporters of fresh melons to Russia are the Islamic Republic of Iran (21%, $1.4 mln) and Uzbekistan (17%, $1.1 mln). Also fresh melons are supplied by China (14%, $927 thous.), Kazakhstan (13%, $835 thous.), Brazil (10%, $665 thous.), Honduras and Turkey (6.8% each, $445 thous. and $442 thous. respectively), Costa-Rica (6.7%, $438 thous.) and Egypt (2%, $136 thous.).
