According to the Federal Custom Service, for the first six months of 2018 Russia has imported ballpoint pens worth $30 mln, it is a 23% increase compared to the same period of the previous year.
On the other hand, Russia’s ballpoint pens export has showed negative trend (-39%) and amounted to $1.12 mln, it is 27 times as little as Russia’s ballpoint pens import.
The main ballpoint pen suppliers to Russia are China (26%, $7.8 mln), India (13%, $3.9 mln), Japan (7%, $2.2 mln), the Republic of Korea (4%, $1.2 mln), Italy (3%, $1 mln), Switzerland (2%, $548 thous.) and Germany (1%, $195 thous.).
