According to the Federal Custom Service of Russia, in 2017 Russia-Japan trade turnover has amounted to $18.261 bn, while in the first half of 2018 it has stood at $10.053 bn.
“Bilateral trade turnover is expected to reach $21-22 bn to the end of 2018. Compared to trade with other countries, Russia-Japan trade turnover is close to Russia-US trade figures. If Russia-Japan trade continues to grow, this figure will exceed Russia-US trade turnover already in 2019”, Head of Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin noted in his speech during the Eastern Economic Forum.
