Russia’s Export and Import Of Metals Go Up

From January to July, 2018 metals and articles thereof have accounted for 10.6% of all export value compared to 10.1% in the same period of 2017.

The share of these products in the export structure has been 10.2% for the far-abroad countries (compared to 9.7% in January-July of 2017) and 13% for CIS countries (compared to 12.3% in the previous year). Export of these products has increased by 34.5% in terms of value and by 15.4$ in terms of volume.

There has been an increase of export volume of cast iron (+32.1%), copper and copper alloys (+20%), semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel (+14.8%), aluminum (+12.7%). At the same time export of flat-rolled iron and non-alloy steel in physical terms has decreased by 10.5%.

As for imports, for the first seven months of 2018 metals and articles thereof have accounted for 7.3% of all import compared to 7.1% in the same period of 2017.

The share of these products in the import structure has been 5.9% for the far-abroad countries (the same figure as in the previous year) and 18.5% for CIS countries (compared to 16.3% in January-July of 2017).

Import of these products has increased by 15.2% in terms of value and by 14.3% in terms of volume. Import volume of ferrous metals has increased by 15.5%, while there has been reduction of pipes supplies (-31.7%) and supplies of flat-rolled iron and non-alloy steel (-3.2%) as well.
