Chinese Consulate-General has been opened in Tatarstan. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Russian Federation Li Hui has noted that the consulate in Kazan has become the sixth consulate of China in Russia. He has underlined that 2018 and 2019 are the Years of Russian-Chinese Interregional Cooperation.
The official ceremony has been visited by Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. He has emphasized that the geographical location of the new Chinese Consulate will encourage Chinese business interest in Tatarstan. “We have already enjoyed excellent relations with Chinese colleagues, today we have opened the new Consulate, so now we need to launch direct flights, and then all this factors shall give a boost to further development of our relations”, said Minnikhanov.
China ranks 7th among Tatarstan’s trade partners. In 2017 export doubled to $260.4 mln, and import had 1.21-fold increase to $204.6 mln.
