Russia’s Six-Months Export Increased by 26.5%, Its Import – by 13.6%

From January to June, 2018 Russia’s trade turnover has amounted to $330.6 bn and increased by 21.6% compared to the same period of 2017.

Export surplus has stood at $98 bn, it is a $31 bn growth compared to the first half of 2017.

Half-year export has amounted to $214.3 bn. As usual, fuel and energy commodities have been the base of national export.

Compared to the first half of 2017 fuel and energy export has increased by 29.3% in terms of value and by 3.4% in terms of volume. Among these goods the export volume of kerosene, bituminous coal, natural gas and motor gasoline has increased, while the export volume of liquid fuel, electric power and coke has decreased.

Russia’s import has stood at $116.3 bn.

As in the previous year, the major part of Russia’s import (46.9%) has been constituted by machinery and equipment. Passenger cars import has grown by 22.6% in terms of volume, while import volume of lorries has decreased by 8.6%.
