Saratov Region Boosts Export Volume

From January to May, 2018 Saratov Region’s export has increased by 21% compared to the same period of the previous year and stood at $663.3 mln.

The main export commodity headings, which have accounted for 83.4% of all Saratov Region’s export, have been as follows:

· Fertilizers ($166.79 mln, +28% compared to the first half of 2017);

· Organic chemical compounds ($95.08 mln, +44%);

· Mineral fuel, oil and its products ($69.76 mln, +40%);

· Oils and fats of animal or plant origin ($65.39 mln, -14%);

· Black metals ($40.22 mln, a 9-fold increase);

· Railway locomotives and tramway rolling stock ($34.79 mln, +86%);

· Nuclear reactors, boilers and support equipment ($29.75 mln, +15%);

· Inorganic chemicals, organic and inorganic compounds ($26.54 mln, -47%);

· Cereals ($24.58 mln, a 2.5-fold increase).

The major part of Saratov Region’s industry structure traditionally refers to fuel and energy complex (45.5%), engineering industry (19.1%), chemical and petrochemical industry (15.6%), and food industry (9.2%) as well.
