In 2017 Russia imported 17 thous. parrots worth $22 thous., it is a 19% decline compared to 2016 and a 82% recession compared to 2015, when parrots import amounted to $122 thous.
Traditionally Russia has been importing parrots from such countries as Surinam (42.6%), Guinea (19.7%), the Democratic Republic of Congo (12.3%) and Solomon Islands (9.8%). Since 2016 the situation has been changing; the main suppliers of parrots to Russia have become Uzbekistan (40.7%), Mali (33.3%) and Solomon Islands (18.5%). In 2017 Russia imported parrots only from two countries, namely Uzbekistan (78.3%) and Surinam (16.7%).The traditional leader in world’s export of parrots is the South Africa. In 2017 the top importers of parrots were Bangladesh (12.3%), Japan (9.6%) and the Republic of Korea (9.45).
In 2018 Tambov Region increased beet pulp export by 11% to 144 thous. tons worth $20.5 mln compared to the previous year.
Russia has become the largest importer of Chilean cheese at the beginning of 2019.
In January, 2019 Russia’s export of wheat and meslin amounted to $519.9 mln and increased by 19.1% compared to the same period of 2018.
