Russia Increases Fizz Exports

Russia exported sweetened mineral and carbonated drinks to $20.59m in January-April 2018 — a 41% leap on last year.

Almost a half of Russian fizz (45.1%) was imported by the parched Kazakhstan to a tune of $9.28m, followed by a cooler Belarus (11.4% worth $2.36m), sunny and hot Kyrgyzstan (10.3% to $2,13m, Ukraine (8.4% to $1.73m), Abkhazia (3.8% to $790,000), and Azerbaijan (3.6% to $740,000).

Other importing countries included Tajikistan, Italy, the United States, Mongolia, France and a few others.

The leading Russian exporters of carbonated drinks in the first four months of 2018 were Moscow Region which accounted for 42.7% of the total, St. Petersburg (13.5%), Penza Region (7.7%), Nizhny Novgorod Region (6.9%), the City of Moscow (5.3%), Rostov Region (4.5%), and Krasnodar Territory whose share in the total exports made up 4.1%.
