Russia Imports Wild Cherries

According to the Russian Federal Customs Service’s official statistics, Russia imported 112.3 tons of wild cherries to $358,500 in the first four months of 2018 — double on last year in physical terms.

From January to March, Russia imported wild cherries from Chile, Argentina, China, New Zealand and Thailand, which together accounted for 38% of the total imports in the first four months of 2018. In April, Russia’s leading suppliers were Turkey, China and Tajikistan which accounted for 62% of the imports in the first four months. Russia’s imports of wild cherries reach their peak from May through July. Its usual key suppliers are Turkey, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Serbia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Belarus.
