According to the Russian Federal Customs Service’s official statistics, Russia exported haircare products to $27.3m in January and February 2018.
The structure of haircare exports is dominated by shampoos which it exported to $10.9m and which accounted for 40% of the total, and hairsprays ($2.5m, or 9%), the remaining $13.9m being shared by other products.
The key importer of Russian haircares is Belarus which bought to $55.2m in 2017 — 29% of the Russian exports. In January and February 2018, Belarus imported to $10.7m, mainly shampoos (43.3%) and other haircares (42.6%), while hairsprays made 13.7%, and accounted for 39% of Russia’s haircare exports in the first two months of this year.
Belarus’s largest suppliers were Moscow, which contributed 78% of its imports, Nizhny Novgorod Region (14%), and St. Petersburg.
Belarus is followed on the list of Russia’s haircare importers by Kazakhstan, which imported 25% of Russian haircare products, and Ukraine (8%).
