Tatarstan, Russia’s Turkic-speaking constituent republic on the Volga River, became one of the top three largest exporters of electric motors and generators which it exported to $33m (13% of the total Russian exports) in 2017, showing a steady growth: in 2015, the republic exported to $10.5m; in 2016, to $12.6m (a 20% increase), while increase in 2017 was a steep 162%.
The geography of Tatar exports includes the United Arab Emirates, Cuba, Australia, the United States, China, and other countries.
