Kostroma Region Russia’s Biggest Bling Exporter

Kostroma Region exported 13.8 tons of jewelry worth $43.5million in 2017 and became Russia’s top exporter, accounting for more than a half (52%) of Russian exports of jewelry, followed by a large margin by Moscow (25%) and St. Petersburg (8%).

The importers of Kostroma jewelry in 2017 included:

Belarus, which imported to $20.5 (47% of the region’s exports);

Kazakhstan ($12.2m, 28%);

Moldova $3.4m, 8%);

Germany ($1.6m, 4%);

Latvia ($1.3m, 2.9%);

UAE ($1.228m, 2.8%);

Estonia ($1.220m, 2.8%);

Lithuania ($800,000, 1.8%);

Kyrgyzstan ($452,000, 1%);

Canada ($303,000, 0.7%);

Switzerland ($250.000, 0.6%);

Mongolia ($56,000, 0.1%) and

Czech Republic ($45,000, 0.1%).
