Russian-Indian Trade on the Rise

Trade between Russia and India totaled US$9.4bn in 2017 — a 21% increase on the previous year.

Russia’s exports to India (69%) exceeded more than twice its imports from India (31%).

Russia’s key exports which amounted to $6.5bn in 2017 — a 22% increase on 2016 — were mineral fuels, oil and oil products, jointly accounting for 23% of the exports and totaling US$1.5bn (more than three times in value terms than in 2016).

India’s exports to Russia rose in 2017 by 21% from the previous year to a total US$2.9bn, with pharmaceuticals as the key export whose 19% share was worth US$560m — a 23% in increase on 2016.
